Embodying Your Work
The pathway to freedom
I can sell you on all the features of the Igloo (our new co-working space).
I can come up with a cool brand and space that make you feel certain things.
But the truth is none of that matters if I’m not embodying what the Igloo is about.
Or the Den for that matter.
I look at the Igloo as the working arm of the Den – bounded by the same energy.
And why should you care about this energy?
Well, this energy is what you’re really signing up for by joining this community.
As my mentor says to me “as you go, It will go.”
So what is It?
It is your ability to trust yourself fully.
To put yourself out there no matter how scary it is.
To do the bold thing when everything inside of you is screaming to jump out and hide.
To ride that wave that you initiated.
That’s the contract I signed up for when I decided to build the Den.
To become what the Den is all about – courageous, truthful, growth oriented and most importantly, a team player.
Last week we had our Igloo launch party.
I used to get super nervous before these events.
For most of my life I hated being the center of attention.
It would give me a ton of fear and anxiety to speak publicly and lead a room.
I thought I would get exposed for being stupid, awkward or unworthy.
These we’re real fears that limited my ability to put myself out there.
Now, I know this is a big part of my equation.
It’s why I lead Fire & Flow and it’s why I’ve decided to take on the Den.
I want to expand in this area.
I know it’s an essential part of my healing journey to take up space and share myself.
So last week, after months of practice leading Fire & Flow, I felt I was finally able to step into the moment.
We had an incredible launch party capped off with a Free Bird that sent everyone into a frenzy.
We all really went for it and the energy was palpable.
We set the tone for what the Igloo will be.
Movement. Inspired action and a collective creative energy.
It’s no surprise that we sold out our private offices a few days later.
This is what I’m talking about with Embodying your work.
When you become the thing you are leading or selling, you become a magnet for your desired outcome.
And rather than burnout, you fall in love with who you’re becoming in the process.
I used to earn $600K a year in commercial real estate and I hated myself.
Now I make less money and absolutely love my life.
I have unlocked my own equation of doing meaningful, creative work and expanding in areas that are soul gratifying.
I have made short term monetary sacrifices to lay the foundation to love my work long term.
Now, I can do what I love, earn sustainable wealth and be around an inspiring community that I can create and grow with.
I can be my full self and reap the rewards for committing deeper to my growth journey.
I can live my work.
That is true freedom to me.
And to be clear, you don’t need a Den to embody your work.
You just need guiding principles that are authentic to you and a business that allows you to express your energy.
When you’re around a community of people that are living this, it becomes contagious.
And when you lead it yourself it becomes invigorating.
This is the agreement your signing when you step into the Igloo.
To become your work and discover your unique pathway to freedom.
