Transitions
On death and opening to your spirit team
“Choose to see death as simply removing a garment or moving from one room to another.. It’s merely a transition.” Wayne Dyer
I experienced a family loss a few weeks ago, losing our matriarch, Bubby Suey.
She was a larger than life presence. Magnetic personality, full of joy and always there. She had close relationships with all her children and grandchildren and her loss is a significant one.
Of course, there is sadness that her physical body is no longer here, but there is also immense gratitude.
I am mainly receiving how lucky I am that I had a healthy and vibrant grandmother for 33 years that taught me many valuable lessons on how to live fully. I wrote about it in my eulogy which you can read here.
Most of all, what this transition has brought up, is the beauty of being in tune with the spirit world.
I feel like I have gained from this loss as I feel her spirit more present around me in my day to day.
I’ve lost grandparents and people close to me before, but I’ve never really felt them on an energetic level after their deaths.
This one has felt different.
While I was speaking at the funeral, I felt her spirit contact me.
The day’s since there have been a number of obvious signs of her being on my team and making some strange magic happen.
When I say magic, what I really mean is divine circumstances that have accelerated my path in career and relationship. Synchronicities that feel like a wink from her.
I feel her on my team and I am awakening to my other ancestors as well.
I know there is a reason why we are part of these families we are born into.
For me, I look at Bubby Suey’s family history (her father, who I’m named after was an immigrant from Lithuania and created a legendary produce and real estate business in Ottawa with his brothers). They we're known as the “Zeli brothers”.
They had the greatness gene in them and this was passed down to Bubby Suey and all of her offspring. I feel this greatness accessible within me and now that I am in tune with the other side, I know there are guides to help me access it.
3 years ago I would have said the notion of a spirit team is completely out of whack, but I have seen and felt enough to know that we can absolutely connect with our ancestors.
There is a Netflix show called Surviving Death that has some amazing testimonies on near death experiences and what happens in the afterlife.
Death is so much more than grieving and loss. It can invoke all the feelings, but ultimately it should be a celebration of someone’s life's work on this planet and the transition of their spirit to the other side.
We can’t control timing and letting go of someone and honoring their legacy by embodying their traits is how I choose to move with death.
And there should also be lessons learnt. No one lives a perfect life and whatever problems that we’re left behind are an invitation for you to break the family pattern and bring things into greater balance.
We all have soul contracts on this earth and I believe our family dynamics are the most challenging and rewarding work we can do to elevate our spirit and those around us.
So if you're going through a loss right now, this is a gentle reminder to feel the person, remember their greatness and open to the spirit that is eternally on your team. 🧡🌈
